Common ground (2024)

ook_anders has many different names and constellations and is situated around the Neue Bruderkirche, Kassel. Their carpet on show during Underdeveloped at Garage Rotterdam, is a reflection of the location’s constant adaptation to realities of all sorts. The carpet can be perceived as a shrine.

“A shrine is a place of power, a sacred space, a container for what is important to us. We gradually understand the way we work and the concern for networking. We had an intensive conversation about how it is often not so easy to come together on certain topics, and since this discussion took place in English we came up with the keyword “common ground”.” – ook_anders

ook_anders developed the goal of weaving a carpet together with many other individuals and groups in the district, as a metaphor for networking and for the “common ground” on which we stand together. On this carpet, activities on the topic of “common ground” will take place. How can we find common foundations for our actions? 

Would you like to help with weaving the carpet? Or organise an event on the carpet? A piece of carpet can be created in many different ways. Little by little, many pieces are tied together to create a large area. We invite you to create your piece of carpet (or several pieces).
