Display Distribute & Krista Jantowski

Display Distribute is a thematic inquiry, distribution service, now and again exhibition space and sometimes shop operated by a roving cast of conceptual shop girls and co-conspirators. Krista Jantowski is a curator, organizer and former bookseller. Both are considered ‘flailing shopkeepers’ in varying contexts, but each found their way into learning sessions with members of lumbung Kios in 2022 and have continued adventuring and co-harvesting ever since. After participation with the Tool Shed Fellowship of Nieuwe Instituut in 2024, Jantowski and Display Distribute began a long-term research to investigate the idea of ‘shop-like structures’ in artistic practices as a way of sustaining, undermining or playing within—a unique, barista’s blend of resistance and adaptation to neoliberal structures.
