ArtLab X Unconditional Design

In Underdeveloped #4, ArtLab and Unconditional Design present a segment of a series of exhibition-publications. These illustrations and images have been translated into the launch of the first Unconditional Design x ruru ArtLab book/booklet in 2019. The working team involves performance artists, architects, product designers, graphic designers, and illustrators.

In this first edition, the collective presents Kutu Air Kota (loosely translated as “Urban Water Fleas”). This exhibition-publication showcases a collection of objects that they have continuously gathered in an open-source manner through the Instagram channel @unconditionaldesign – which began in 2017 –  involving various forms of contribution from the general public. The selected objects are spontaneous and organic designs created by residents, related to water and other liquids. These objects are re-illustrated and analyzed through written reflections
