Untitled (drawing photo 25) (2014)

Danaë Moons’ large, unfinished drawing titled Untitled (2014) shows a complex ‘being’: is it possibly a living – and trapped – organism, whose skin is missing and whose veins and bones are revealed? With a construction pierced through its exposed and chained body?

A spiderweb of lines meanders dynamically and infinitely. Moons’ use of ink creates a contrast between the natural and the industrial, emphasizing themes of decay, transformation, and the tension between the organic and the constructed.
