Growing Infrastructures (2024)

A workshop, publication station, ‘PubliCart’ and garage door awning serve as support structures developing slowly over the course of the exhibition alongside activities and programs of other artists and their communities. Intended to be used and to give the possibility for the exhibition space to be active, the structures serve as an empty support, without meaning ‘at first’. (/) Visitors to the exhibiton can make use of the computers and printers during the open hours. (/) Elements from the workshop will be invested in the community repair space Doe-Het-Zelf Werkplaats at the conclusion of the exhibition. (/) Both the back-door exterior awning announcing the entrance to the garage/workshop, and the PubliCart, encourage people to gather and engage in dialogue in and about thresholds and public spaces. (/) PubliCart will be developed over the course of a year as a mobile station providing tools that facilitate connections, support, and the sharing of experiences.

The approach is rooted in collaboration and building organically, as we believe in strengthening neighbourly bonds across different constellations before diving into projects and outcomes.
