During this summer break, Garage Rotterdam will become a common ground for the students and alumni of ArtScience (KABK) and the Piet Zwart Institute (WdKA). This exhibition aims to be more than a display, it is an evolving process, a meeting point for conversation, collaboration, and unexpected connections. Through this crossover between institutions, generations, and disciplines, we wish to cultivate a sense of continuity and exchange for students coming from different backgrounds and sometimes at different stages of their practices. It is an opportunity to connect, cross paths, and allow ourselves to shape new ideas. By creating a space for showing, listening, performing, and discussing, we hope to weave new connections within those artistic communities while showcasing the wide range of mediums and practices hosted in those schools. The theme « Language(s) » aims to convey these principles while encouraging a constructive dialogue shaped by a multitude of expressions.

General information for application

• Exhibition between 01/08 – 10/08/2025 (Exact dates to be defined when the program is confirmed)
• Location: Garage Rotterdam
• Application deadline 10/07/2025

Conditions

• Be a student or alumni from either the Piet Zwart Institute or KABK ArtScience
• Be able to present one or more completed or well on tracks works related to the theme «Language(s)»
• Be present and available during the exhibition’s days

We are open to all kinds of works, subjects, concepts or mediums. However, we would like to put a particular emphasis on the notion of exchange and collective dialogue in accordance with the theme Language(s). We invite you to consider how this concept can be interwoven into your practices.

To participate please make a PDF containing:

• Your name & contact information
• Title of the work
• Category of work (workshop – performance – lecture – discussion – physical – moving image)
• Description (max 300 words)
• Material needs (electricity, dark space, projector, etc…)
• Visuals / sounds (pictures of the project/videos/sounds/etc…)
