Le città di Bolo (2022)
Le città di Bolo presents cannonballs arranged like a small planetary system. Upon their heavy, metallic surfaces, the artist applies bole to draw imaginary cities—fragile cartographies inscribed onto objects once designed for destruction.
The work stages a sharp inversion: instruments of war become carriers of fiction. The cannonballs resemble celestial bodies or game pieces, hovering between violence and play, gravity and imagination. This oxymoron lies at the core of the installation. What appears playful carries the weight of real destruction.
By transforming weapons into speculative worlds, the work questions the boundary between truth and fiction, spectacle and catastrophe. Each sphere holds both memory and projection, suggesting that even within objects of rupture, other narratives can be imagined.
