Marishka Soekarna

Marishka Soekarna – also known as Cempaka – (Indonesia), embraces roles as a mother, visual artist, and music selector. As part of the music duo Iramamama, Cempaka curates a diverse collection of sounds ranging from Indonesian gems of the 1950s to 1970s, to Asia’s unique quirks and Western post-punk. Her work with Iramamama has been showcased internationally, including at ‘Southern Constellation: Poetic of the Non-Aligned’ in Slovenia (2019), the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, Italy (2019), and the Autostrada Biennale in Kosovo (2021). Additionally, Cempaka hosted a series of radio shows titled “Elternabend” with Kassel’s independent radio collective, Radio Rasclat, in Germany (2021).
