Csilla Klenyanszki

Csilla Klenyanszki studied Dutch language and literature in Budapest, Hungary before graduating at the Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam in 2012.

In her photographs Csilla Klenyánszki attempts to approach the world around her just like a child: open and without prejudice. She is inspired by her own home and surroundings that often serve as décor. She explores and stretches the possibilities of everyday objects, testing the limits of credibility.

The medium of photography allows Klenyanszki to do research that never ends. Time and again she looks for new options and images – serving both as the starting point for new works of art, and also being influenced by earlier work. Klenyanszki plays a continuous game with imagination and reality, producing work that is both strange and familiar.
